An Exciting Relationship-Building Opportunity CMBC, through the Missions Committee, is planning a partnership with a church plant in Tirrasses, Costa Rica. Unlike past missions trips here at Calvary Monument, these teams will be returning year after year in an effort to build relationships with this church family. We will be working directly with Andy Gordley, and local believer, Pastor Jairo. Team members will be helping at Kids’ Clubs with craft time and snacks. There will also be a time to visit church members and hand out food packets to the poor. It is not necessary for team members to speak Spanish, however, this would definitely be a plus! Andy is basically looking for those with a servant’s heart. Many of the tasks will be those that were being done by the students in the GAP program. At this time, the students will be gone, and we will be going in to “fill the gap.”
The team is limited to 4-8 people, age 18 and over. The trip will take place from May 16-23, 2016. It would be our hope that 2 or 3 of the team members going on this trip would be able to go the following year, as we are reaching out to build relationships and continuity is of upmost importance.
If you think you might be interested in hearing more about this opportunity, plan to attend a meeting at CMBC, Monday, December 28, at 7:00 PM in Room 22. Andy Gordley will be there to answer any questions you might have. A team will be selected that evening from those in attendance. (We are putting the team together early in an attempt to qualify for extremely low airfares.)
An Exciting Partnership It is with great excitement we share the news of our newest members to our Missionary Family. The missions committee voted at the last meeting to financially support Bill and Kristie Campbell, ministering in France with GEM. Bill and Kristie have had a long term relationship with CMBC and we are thrilled to be able to support them financially and in prayer. Bill said in his most recent letter, “God is moving (in Paris). Lives are being changed, hearts are being restored, the Kingdom is advancing. We are seeing God’s love at work. Our house-church is growing. Our disciples are multiplying.” Watch for the “Campbell Chronicles” on the missions bulletin board, or you may receive their updates and prayer requests at your home by contacting the Campbells directly at Bill.Campbell@gemission.org.
An Exciting Gift Thanks to your generosity, the missions offering on October 25 exceeded our required amount by more than $9,000 enabling us to send each member of the CMBC Missionary Family a Christmas Check in the amount of $215! God Bless you - each and every one!
An Exciting Ministry Please be in prayer for a few men from our congregation going to serve in an Alabama prison with We Care Ministries January 24-28. Pray for Mark Leatherman, Phil Nissley, and Greg Wenger as they share the Gospel and God’s love to men who need to know Him in these dark and dreary times.
