Pastor Chris was born and raised in Lancaster County. He spent his childhood growing up in the Holtwood Area, where he came to know Jesus at Rawlinsville Camp Meeting. Shortly after Jesus transformed his life, Pastor Chris pursued a calling to enter ministry. Chris trained at Baptist Bible College & Seminary (now Clarks Summit University) where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Bible.
Upon graduation from college, Chris accepted a position at Wesley Church in Quarryville, where he served for 14 years in various roles, beginning as the Youth Pastor. During his tenure at Wesley, Chris had the opportunity to complete a Master’s degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia and the opportunity to begin work towards a Ph.D. at Lancaster Bible College.
Chris and his wife Sheila met at Black Rock Retreat. Sheila grew up in the Manheim area where she attended Manheim Central High School. She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Nursing and has her RN license. Chris and Sheila were married in May of 2003 and have 3 children: Braighton, Baylee & Brody. In 2014, the Lenhart family began a journey towards international adoption, as this journey is nearing its final stages, in the fall of 2019, the Lenharts are anticipating and celebrating God’s purpose and design in allowing them to bring home 4 boys from Haiti.
Chris and Sheila live in Quarryville where they are actively involved in the community. Chris serves as a football coach for the high school and is engaged in many other youth sports and activities. Chris enjoys spending time with his family, following all Philadelphia sports teams & Penn State Football, being active, reading, coffee, and people.
Chris, Sheila and their family are excited to join the CMBC family and look ahead with great anticipation towards what God might accomplish! It is Chris’s desire to see God build up a community of believers who live to honor God by helping others grow in a greater love for God and a greater love for each other; leading the next generation to grow in Christ and be motivated to continue!
