We are winding down our first movement in the book of Exodus. In the first part of Exodus, we have walked through God's plan to deliver his people from the hands of their Egyptian oppressors. We have witnessed God raise up, empower, and equip his deliverer. We have watched as God has worked through 9 plagues and a hard heart, to make his name great among the nation of Egypt. And now, in Exodus 11-12, we enter into the final plague, the death of the first born. This is the genesis of God's deliverance. Freedom will come through a traumatic loss of life. A foreshadowing of our future deliverance in Jesus.
