In Mark 4:35-6:6a Jesus calms the storm, casts out demons, heals the sick, and still finds his ministry largely rejected and scrutinized, even by those of his own hometown. In the midst of the miracles Jesus is calling people to believe, to have faith, while he affirms those who demonstrate faith, even in spite of their fear. In this text we explore the contrasts between fear and belief. Fear can keep us from recognizing Jesus for who he truly is.
